About
Welcome to Artistry by Chelsea!

I started as a self trained Makeup Artist in 2013 while living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I started learning how to do makeup on myself by watching YouTube videos, and reading tons of beauty blogs.
Shortly thereafter, I started working for MAC. MAC was a great resource in teaching me the basics of doing makeup on clients. They taught me all the things I missed out on by learning makeup from YouTube. Such as, ingredient information, proper hygiene, and how to work on different skin tones, and face/eye shapes than my own.
In 2014, I started attending the University of Saskatchewan. I took multiple art classes including, printmaking, painting, sculpture and drawing. Taking those classes definitely helped me with colour theory, and gave me a basic understanding of art, which I feel really helped my artistry.
In 2016, I left MAC and moved to Vancouver BC and started working for Sephora. Throughout my time at Sephora, I was afforded many opportunities. I was given lots of in depth training and was able to meet and work alongside some of my makeup idols. I gained so much experience working on so many different people. Since moving to Vancouver, I've also worked on film and photoshoots.
Since leaving Sephora in 2018, I've been focusing on working more freelance and photoshoots.
I'm very comfortable doing all types of makeup, from everyday simple makeup, to full glam, more abstract ideas, or high concept. I'm also available to do lessons.
